Thank you Ahlam. Though I’ve been writing for years, I’m relatively new to this style of expression. I read one of EE Cummings’ lectures recently. He referred to himself as the ‘so-called poet.’ He pointed out that poetry is about the expression of one’s unique voice. That one idea lifted a heap of pressure, because it signifies releasing your inner narrator (rather than comparing to others or trying to emulate great works).
Sometimes my words resonate, sometimes they don’t… but the discipline is about capturing these thoughts & emotions at a particular point in time. I guess the outputs form snapshots of a life being lived. I appreciate your thoughtful comment 🙏
