What I’m paid for this would be considered a poverty-level income. This is not a survivable “main income” job, and if I didn’t have a retirement income, I would not be able to invest the time. I am donating time, and it’s my choice. Many pub owners on Medium are retired, or have a reason for staying home. Some work tech jobs. Some write SEO. Some are stay-at-home parents. For most, Medium is not their main job.
